Lake Rosseau Mix

These cabinets are a mixture of solid colour and walnut stained cabinetry with natural Muskoka stone elements to create a focal point in an open room with a great view of the lake. Seating around the island keeps guests and hosts together while entertaining. The 12` ceilings give more that adequate storage opportunities and allow for decorative valance and crown moulding.

A commercial gas range is trimmed with a panelled range hood, brackets, and turned columns. A supporting steel beam is encased in stone and appears to arise from within the cabinets.

Lake Muskoka Warmth

Our Homes Magazine Spring 09 issue to see a feature article on a Lake Muskoka property finished in 2006. The decorating touches set off the fine carpentry and the pine cabinetry. Check out www.ourhomesmagazine.com/muskoka/back-issues and go to the Spring 2009 issue titled "Shangri-La in Muskoka" and see more.

Rich Cherry Cabinets

Here is one of my favourites...the cabinetry is in a rich cherry/mahogany stain. Coupled with black soapstone countertops, it really stands apart from a factory kitchen.
This was the first project I used all soft-close, hidden drawer slides and door hinges. The hardware I use is all lifetime guaranteed and is of the quality that I and my clients demand. It is now included in all my cabinetry.

Lake Joe Beauty

Here are a few more shots of my work....all designed, built, finished, and installed by Fred Orchard Cabinetry. This was completed in Oct. 08 and is located on Lake Joseph.

The kitchen is a combination of Pinfeather on birch with a slight distressing and a black laquer island, again, with a light distressing around the wear edges.

The different depths and heights create a interesting detail on the crown and valance trim. Tucked in behind pocket doors hides a TV and countertop appliances. The decorative half columns beside the gas cooktop serve as spice and oil storage. There is seating around the functional island making this a focal point of any entertaining. My new favourite.
Some of the bathroom cabinetry is knotty pine finished in an early american/provincial stain mix that brings out the beauty of the natural pine grains.
Look for this property to be featured in the spring issue of Our Homes Magazine, coming out in March/ April 2010.

Old dog, new tricks!
